Altra Shenzhen factory (AIMS) lean efforts improve production efficiency of Bauer Gear Motor

As part of Altra commitment to promote continuous improvement within the company, and to answer our customer’s requirement for better delivery lead time, quality and cost in a more and more challenging economic environment, Altra Shenzhen has successfully improved production capabilities on Bauer Gear Motor’s small types’ assembly line.

Better control of work in process with a better visual management, optimization of workspace and drastic reduction of waiting and walking time, this all lead to an effective productivity increase of 300%, coming from an output of 3.5 pieces / hours with 2 operators to 7 pieces / hour with 1 operator.
